Priyanka Waghela: रागनीति पत्रिका में सिनेमा पर मेरा लेख

Priyanka Waghela is a writer and visual artist. In addition to creating art, she also writes poetry and scripts for films. To her, art never seemed like an alien pursuit since her father was a visual artist and faculty member at the Visual Arts Department, Indira Kala Sangeet University, Khairagarh. “All the senior artists, writers and painters used to visit my house when I was a child,” says Priyanka, who grew up around art, which made pursuing it effortless and natural.

She created her first painting at the age of eight for a school competition, and received an award for it from Bharat Bhavan, Bhopal. Today, she is surrounded by creativity. In fact, even her husband is an artist and a filmmaker, making it easier for her to continue to pursue her passion.

Raised in a family where art is the basic theme of life and where everything revolves around the presentation of human emotions in a pictorial form, Priyanka feels that growing up in such a family is what gave her the eyes through which, “I can see the world in a different dimension and with time, as the cruelties and the softness of life passes in front of my eyes, my mind encountered all these themes and places them in the dimension that I have attained,” the artist shares. As a result of this influence, she is willing to express that dimension in which her mind is sometimes silent and other times it weeps or laughs.
